2.3 MARKS OF A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP

== #1. RESPECT

Respect does not mean that you always approve or would do things the same yourself, but it means you honor the other person.

== #2. GIVE AND TAKE

In general the relationship should be equal. While one person may need more for an hour or a day or a week, over time the relationship should even out. And there should be an easy give and take when deciding about chores, responsibilities, etc.

== #3. OPEN HONEST COMMUNICATION

At all levels communication should be open including verbal, non-verbal and body language; both people should listen carefully and equally. The tone of the conversation should be polite.

== #4. TRUST

Trust is the most important element in a relationship. It should never be taken for granted or treated like a bank account that can be drawn upon. Trust takes years to build and can be destroyed in seconds. It is the most precious thing two people can share.
